About

SPCA’s Kaikōura Op Shop is at 116 Beach Road, on the northern approach into town along State Highway 1. Like every SPCA op shop, its sales go to animal welfare, and it relies on volunteers.

We confirmed in November 2026 that it carries books. Map listings show it open seven days, including Sunday — the only one of Kaikōura’s three book stops to open on Sunday mornings — but the SPCA does not publish the hours itself, so treat them as a guide. The Kaikōura Community Op Shop is a short walk back towards town at 25 Beach Road.
