How donation pickup works
Fill in the short form below. You will get a reply to arrange a time if the location and volume make sense for a pickup run. This is a Greater Christchurch service — city suburbs plus the outer towns already in our directory.
- What travels well: tidy fiction and non-fiction, NZ interest, kids books in readable condition, recent textbooks.
- What usually skips the van: mouldy, wet, heavily written-in, or incomplete sets — better recycled or binned.
- Where books go: selected titles may be rehomed through local reuse (helping fund this free directory); everyday mass-market fiction and surplus often go to the nearest listed op shop or charity bookshop so they stay cheap for the next reader.
We are not a commercial rubbish removal service. If you only have clothing or bric-a-brac, use the charity shops on our Christchurch list instead.

Do you pay for book donations?
No — this is a donation / reuse pickup, not a buy-and-sell valuation at the door. If you have scarce NZ titles you want to sell yourself, a marketplace or dedicated dealer may suit better.
What if I am outside Greater Christchurch?
Pickup is focused on Christchurch and the satellite towns we list (Rangiora, Kaiapoi, Rolleston, Burnham). Further afield, drop books at a local charity shop that stocks books, or send the form and we will say honestly if a run is not practical.
Can I drop books instead?
Yes — many listed op shops and charity bookshops accept donations in store. Pickup is for when you cannot easily transport boxes.
