Blenheim, Picton & Kaikōura secondhand books
Marlborough lost its secondhand bookshop in August 2022, when Still Books on Scott Street closed after 30 years — the owner tried to sell, but there were no takers. Since then, used books in Blenheim have lived in the town’s charity shops, and three of them list books on their own websites: The Blue Door on Seymour Street, Hospice Marlborough’s twin shops in Redwoodtown, and the Salvation Army Family Store on Redwood Street.
Picton and Kaikōura are thinner. Both have op shops (Picton’s Hospice and Vinnies shops on High Street; Kaikōura’s Community and SPCA op shops on Beach Road), but none of them confirms a book section, and Kaikōura’s long-listed Endeavour Books appears only in old directories. We have noted them below rather than send you on a wasted trip.
Everything here was checked against operator websites and Marlborough District Council’s charity-shop list on 1 November 2026.

FAQ
Is there a secondhand bookshop in Blenheim?
Not any more. Still Books on Scott Street closed in August 2022 after 30 years. The Blue Door, Hospice Marlborough’s Redwoodtown shops and the Salvation Army Family Store all sell donated books.
Where can I buy used books in Picton?
We could not confirm a book section at any Picton shop. Hospice Marlborough opened two shops at 38–40 High Street in 2024 (open daily 10am–4pm) and Vinnies is at 110 High Street — both worth a look, but call ahead if books are the goal.
Is there a secondhand bookshop in Kaikōura?
Endeavour Books on West End still appears in online directories, but we found no recent evidence that it is trading. Kaikōura’s Community Op Shop and SPCA Op Shop are on Beach Road; Paper Plus on West End sells new books.
Which Blenheim charity shop is cheapest for books?
The Hospice Marlborough discount shop in Redwoodtown prices everything at $5 or less.
