About
The Red Cross Shop on Vanguard Street opened in its current, larger premises at number 52 in June 2024, merging the former Stoke shop on Neale Street and the old Vanguard Street site. Red Cross describes it as its “newest and brightest” shop, still run by the same long-serving manager and volunteer crew.
The shop’s directory listing names books among the goods it stocks and accepts, alongside clothing, furniture, homewares and toys. Vanguard Street is also home to Nelson Tasman Hospice’s Op Shop on Vanguard, so it is a natural pairing for an op-shop loop south of the city centre. Open seven days.
