About

Habitat for Humanity’s Nelson ReStore on Tāhunanui Drive is a charity shop and community hub rolled into one: furniture, homewares, clothing, books, toys, appliances and garden gear in the main store, a Home Building Supplies & DIY Shed out the back, and a café and children’s play area so the family can stay a while.

Habitat’s own page lists books among the six-day-a-week stock, with new donations arriving daily. It is on the main road between the city and Tāhunanui Beach, so it is easy to fit in on the way to Richmond or the airport. Proceeds fund Habitat’s affordable housing programmes in Nelson.

Price tip: ReStore pricing; book stock is a side line among furniture and building supplies.

What you’ll find

A rotating book section — fiction, kids’ books, cookery and DIY — among furniture, homewares and vintage finds.
